Livestock Judging Competition

2026 LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST

1. All Texas 4-H and FFA teams are eligible to enter. Entry Fee: Per Team- $40.00 Individual – $10.00

2. Each FFA Chapter or 4-H Club is not limited to an amount of teams entered.

3. Teams will consist of four members. The low scoring individual on each team will be the alternate, but three members may make up a team without an alternate.

4. Each class will consist of four (4) animals.

5. Each contestant will be allowed 10 minutes for judging each class. Scantrons will be used and furnished by the show officials.

6. Banners will be awarded to 1st – 5th Place High Point teams. The Top Ten high scoring individuals will receive buckles. There are two divisions – Junior & Senior. All awards apply for both divisions.

7. The contest will be held in the show arena, Saturday, October 3, at 9:00 a.m. Sign in/registration 7:00 – 8:00 a.m.

8. A Colliegent Livestock Judging Team will determine cuts for scoring of the class.

9. Placing will be 1, 2, 3 and 4 numbering left to right.

10. Individual ties will be broken by the designated tie breaking class, then by team score if still tied.

11. Team ties will be broken by high point individuals, if still tied, then by the designated tie breaking class.

12. Junior Livestock Judging 8th grade and below. Senior Livestock Judging 9th grade & over.
